Band Camp is the kickoff week for GPHS Grizzly Band students, with rehearsals, uniform fitting, pictures, and the Friday Preview Show.

Hello Grizzly Band families! We're excited for another great week of Band Camp. Below you'll find arrival times, volunteer opportunities, and what students should bring.
Volunteer needs
Thank you in advance to everyone helping make Band Camp run smoothly. These are the main volunteer needs for the week:
- Setup / Field: Monday, 7:00 AM. Help set up canopies, water, and field equipment.
- Greeter / Attendance: Tuesday through Thursday mornings. Help with morning check-in.
- Uniform Fitting Helper: Tuesday through Thursday, 2-hour shifts. This is the most-needed role of the week.
- Lunch Supervisor: Monday through Thursday, 12:00-1:00 PM. Parent presence during the lunch break.
- Afternoon Snack Helper: Monday through Thursday, around 3:00 PM. Distribute frozen treats.
- Photo Helpers: Friday morning. Help organize students for pictures.
- Ice Cream Social: Friday afternoon. Serve and clean up after the Preview Show.
- T-shirt Distribution: Friday. Hand out Grizzly Band shirts.
First day schedule
Arrival times are different on Monday only.
- 7:30 AM: Student Leadership Council arrives, including Drum Majors, Quartermasters, and Section Leaders.
- 8:00 AM-12:00 PM: All freshmen and students new to GPHS Grizzly Band.
- 12:00-1:00 PM: Lunch.
- 1:00-4:00 PM: All Grizzly Band members.
Tuesday through Thursday
All Grizzly Band members should arrive by 7:45 AM so rehearsal can begin at 8:00 AM.
- 8:00 AM-4:00 PM: Rehearsal for all Grizzly Band members.
- 12:00-1:00 PM: Lunch.
Lettering credit
Attendance is taken every day during Band Camp. Attendance points count as lettering points.
Friday schedule
Friday, August 14 is Picture Day and the Preview Show.
- 7:45 AM: Students arrive no later than 7:45 AM to change into uniform.
- 8:00 AM: Picture Day.
- 2:00 PM: Preview Show and Ice Cream Social for friends and families.
What to bring
Most of Band Camp is outside. Students should bring:
- Sunscreen.
- A refillable water bottle.
- A sack lunch.
- Sunglasses and a hat.
- Extra sunscreen.
- Closed-toe shoes. These are required.
Uniform fitting happens during the first few days, so students should wear shorts and a T-shirt. Students in band class will also be fitted for the required concert uniform dress or pant option, with more details emailed during camp week.
